A Podcasting club
4th and 5th grade students create a podcast with a global audience.
Club sponsors: Ms. Wilson, Mrs. Flores, and Ms. Busse
Location: Library
Times: Wednesdays after school from 3:05-4:15pm (2021-22 school year)
Thank you for your interest in joining the Media Club! Expect Media Club to be busy, exciting, and FUN! Some of the skills we will focus on are interviewing techniques, podcasting, writing style, objective reporting, opinion writing, digital photography, organization, character development, and proper grammar. Those interested can also learn how to mix and edit their segments using Audacity!
Our goal is to record a podcast each month and publish a book of original student writing by the end of the year. Although we hope to provide ample writing time, some time outside of Media Club meeting times may be necessary to complete assignments.
Interested applicants must:
Application period: September 13-24, 2021

Interested applicants must:
- Uphold themselves in a constructive manner. Bullying, lack of respect, incomplete classroom work, and other behavior problems will not be tolerated. We are a team, and you are a representative of Steubing Elementary.
- Attend the weekly meetings. Students missing more than two weekly meetings risk losing their position in the club, as other students may be on a waiting list.
- Be responsible for your work and assignments. Weekly “homework” may include listening to a mentor podcast and making observational notes.
